The American film industry, better known as Hollywood has been entertaining us since decades. Hollywood changed the way we got entertained, changed the way we thought about things and it even changed the way we dated. It is because of Hollywood that movie dates have become so popular and it is also because of Hollywood that watching movies has become the best source of entertainment for all of us.

Hollywood- the evolution

In the early and the middle 20^th century, Hollywood produced a number of movies which we even remember today as classics. The memories of these movies have lived on after all these years. It was from the 1920s that several changes took place in the film industry and in Hollywood.

In the 1920s, sound was introduced in movies and it was the single biggest change in the history of movies. Till then the motion pictures had been silent and it was only then that a number of movies with sound had been produced. America loved going to these movies and still does. The love affair with Hollywood began then and though the road had been bumpy, it has still been entertaining.

The Golden Age

The Golden Age of Hollywood began in the 1930s and went on for two decades. It was in the 30s that Hollywood really spread its wings. Several changes occurred in the movie industry and the use of sound techniques had been created and used in the movies. The color movies had been introduced then and it caused a major revolution in the industry. The color movies changed our perspective about the way we saw entertainment.

Several spectacular movies had been produced during this Golden Age like Adventures of Robin Hood, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind and Singin’ In the Rain. Since then there has been no looking back.

Hollywood movies today

Since the golden age of Hollywood, there has been no turning back. Hollywood today is one of the largest movie industries in the world. Over the decades it has continued to provide us with entertaining movies which we all have loved, adored and remembered over the years. Hollywood movies are entertaining and thoughtful. There are several different genres of movies today among which adventure, drama, romantic and comedy movies are considered to be all time favorites.

Today, the movies which are produced in Hollywood combine the efforts of several technicians, producers, directors, actors and a large crew. All of these people work as a team to create a unique and entertaining movie. We all have loved Hollywood movies and Friday night movies have become almost a ritual with us.

Hollywood has not only changed the way we get entertained but it has also had a major impact on our culture. There have been thoughtful movies over the decades which have changed the way we think and act about certain sensitive issues in life. Hollywood has entertained us for decades and will continue to do so over the next few decades to.
