Celebrities & Hollywood?

by admin on December 5, 2010

what do you think? i think its all just materialistic without a single ounce of culture; & that most celebrities are just people with mediocre acting talent. theyr’e just frekaing lucky to be noticed, or they are very attractive. there must be loads of people out there who can sing, dance, and act just as well, htey aren’t just that lucky.
adn dont’ you hate how whne one is an actress, she can go on to be a singer easily, and then a fashoin designer, then make perfume, then become a model…just like that?

of course there are some stars out there, like Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp & all those. Audrey Hepburn & shit.

its just what i think. that MOST of them dont actually deserve all that much attention?

We have different priorities than we did back when Audrey Hepburn was alive. People are celebrity obsessed these days. People care more about what Britney’s doing than the fact that we’re in a war, the price of oil is outrageous, our president is an idiot and a complete and utter failure, the economy is in the toilet, people are losing their jobs, and we’re wasting our natural resources.

But you also have to remember that talent is subjective. Who you think is talented or not is your opinion, not everyone agrees, hence why it’s subjective. I agree with you, don’t get me wrong, but rarely if EVER do you see the very successful overweight singer, or the very successful overweight actress. If you’re not attractive nobody cares. I know it’s harsh but it’s true (and I’m a fatty myself so I know first hand). I don’t think anyone deserves fame to be honest. Look at how fame affects people. I wouldn’t want cameras in my face and people hounding me everywhere I go. We’re all voyeurs and watching these people merely living their lives. To me that’s sick. I mean, there’s nothing wrong with liking a star/celebrity for their craft (music or movies) but why go that extra mile? It’s crossing the line and these people aren’t living in reality. It’s all a fantasy. That’s what you have to remember.

very true…alot of it is family connections as well. what is sad is there are many actors and actresses out there that are just running over with talent that are past by because they didn’t have the look, or the voice. Sad isn’t it?

Couldn’t agree more on Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep. I don’t even loop classics in because todays acting style is so different. We use realism today in the schools of Stanislavsky and Strassberg and a few others. They didn’t do that in the past. Thank God for those few great talents.

Stars typically don’t design their own stuff…typically it is made and then they sign the celebrity on to put their name and stamp on it. Very few do the actual leg work. Many that do the designs actually just copy designs done by other designers and then say they came up with it…Jennifer Lopez is the worst about that. Drives me insane.

I will say many actresses who try to be singers and vice versa fail miserably at it unless they have the greatest voices ever (Bette Midler and Barbra Streisand worked it), so that at least ends very quickly. Wonder why men have better luck at it?

Did you know Johnny Depp started out as a singer in a band? Nicholas Cage befriended him and led him to acting. Thank you Nick!!!

AMEN! Is there anybody here who knows who Cat Power is? Or Diana Damrau? Or Margot Fonteyn? Or Isadora Duncan? Or Pablo Neruda? Or.. or.. or… or…??? *sigh*

More than half of the best artists in the world don’t even live in Hollywood nor did they ever get recognized by the Oscars or Grammies. If u wanna know what TRUE/REAL artists are, u should seek way.. BEYOND what’s in Hollywood.
