Anonymous protests at Scientology’s Celebrity Center HQ in Hollywood. The Scientologists were throwing a welcoming party for celebrities, politicians, and high-ranking police officials to try and get them on their good side in keeping their tax exemption status. They illegally blocked off the sidewalk, and tried waving a permit at us as an excuse, even though permits only cover private property, not public sidewalks. But they’re able to get away with it anyway. Barney the purple dinosaur “quits” Scientology and joins Anonymous. (Disclaimer: Not the same Barney as the one on Hollywood & Highland.)

There’s a Barney on Hollywood & Highland who is a Scientologist, and gets pretty crazy when protesters show up. However, we had our own protester arrive in a Barney suit with a sign saying “I Quit Scientology”.
We WERE across the street, the only time we could be on the same side is if we aren’t right in front of the property. Technically we are allowed to be on the same side on the sidewalk (public property), but not when the cult is bribing the chief of police to break the law.
That’s a good question. They did threaten us once when we crossed the street nearby the tape, but did not enter the “blocked-off area”, to arrest us if we did it again. Can they arrest us? Yes and no. They can probably detain us, but there’s really no way they can charge us, unless the corrupt Lee Baca comes up with a false crime to charge us with, which wouldn’t surprise me. But it’s best not to take chances when the cult involves the police.

I doubt he does meth. However, he’s been known to get himself into trouble, and I would agree that he DOES need to calm down. He can enturbulate all he wants, he just needs to know what kind of effect it has, and TRY to stay within the law.

Just how many Anonymous members are actually former Scientologists? It seems to me that Anonymous are just a community of outcasts who have just found a save target to attack.
Some former Scientologists choose to remain anonymous, but you’ll find that most of them are open with their names, because the cult already knows who they are and to be anonymous may be pointless.
Anonymous is a collective with no leaders who decided to bring light to Scientology’s crimes.

Michealrobert, there is truth in what you say there. There are some anonymous members like that. But there is also a real passion in the group to have lulz and do something thats right.
How do you figure $cientology is a “safe” target?
I’m not sure what he implies by a “safe target”, but the closest thing I can think of is the fact that Scientology is something that can be brought up with politicians and investigated by the FBI, or similar organizations depending on the country. I personally have a lot of problems of the world in which I would proudly stand against, but not many of those are actionable, at least not as much as exposing a worldwide fraud not run by the government.
