How do foreign celebrities skirt our tough immigration laws to live in Hollywood?

by admin on September 17, 2010

Example: Victoria and David Beckham and their children, any Canadian entertainer who has migrated South, etc…
Ok so they may be "sponsored" by their movie studio while filming a movie in Hollywood, but what about those foreign celebrities who permanently live in Hollywood, even when they are not filming, or own a residence there at least.

well, we don’t have tough immigration laws for one. two, it is not hard to get a work visa, which is what they have. basically, you need a sponsor, which his soccer team probably signed on for, and you have to prove you have a job, enough money to support yourself, etc. it really isn’t a difficult process to get a work visa. and once you are in the door, then you can go through the much longer process of getting an american citizenship

They all have special status! And it doesn’t matter from what country, just like many athlete’s do! And high ranking business people!

They are part of the special few!

I think there is an exemption if you are here for business reason. I think a company has to sponser him. THere is another exemption for the rich. I was told it was $200,000, but also that the clause was removed. It makes more since for it to be upped. I’m sure someone payed some lawyer to file this for them.

They have guaranteed employment and are fiscally independent, thus, not a drain on the economy. If you were in a similar tax bracket it wouldn’t be too hard for you to go to England/the UK.

Most are here for business, have a visa to that extent, and have a sponsor that will vouch for them financially so that if they are not working they will not be dependent on the state.

Believe me-money.England tolerates D.Beckham,as he’s an excellent player.Victoria Beckham is a talentless tart, famous for not being able to sing and thinking she’s glamorous. She’s trash with cash.

They can have Green card under "Culture workr". Its not a problem neither to them, nor to sportsmen, and so on.

. We have a photographer on a celebrity at all times. I think the media has this covered in all the tabloids.

Easy, they contact the related officials, they pay ‘tribute’ to these officials, and they comply with what these officials told them to do.

The USA has some of the toughest immigration laws in the world. The problem is that many of them are not enforced. In the case of the Beckhams he is employed as it were by the LA soccer team. As such he qualifies for a business visa and his wife qualifies under the same circumstances as a dependent of a foreign employee….Its all in the line of employment…
