Libs, Should we cap Hollywood Celebrities pay?

by admin on September 23, 2010

I mean after all they are just memorizing a few scripts and pretending…

why should there be any difference between Hollywood Greed and Corporate Greed?

how about the people who labor and create the set…and spend long hours to put things together….

actors just have to show up…and do what they are told….

How about some consistency Libs…..for once please

Liberals who support capping pay usually don’t know anything about business. Blind lemming drones….

This applies to the person below. Hey you, do you now how much worse our economy would be, if we punished the brightest minds for achieving?

Well said, spread that wealth around.

Blondie September 23, 2010 at 9:14 am

No those libs voted for redistribution of wealth, so give it to them and then take it away. That’s what they voted for

I don’t necessarily think there should be caps on anyone’s pay. However, there are differences between the two. Corporations make their money off the labor of the workers, whereas celebrities contribute quite substantially to the profits in a movie. Also, they have to deal with the paparazzi and the loss of privacy. I wouldn’t want to be famous.

Libs will get around too it. I think they also limit senete pay to 8.50 per hour. All they do is sit anyway.

I wish there was some serious talk about taking money away from the liberal Hollywood crowd and capping their earnings. There should be a law that any celebrity who supports liberal causes should put their money where their mouth is and redistribute his or her wealth. That would shut them all up.

And btw, the complaining about corporate greed didn’t just start with the bailouts. Libs have ALWAYS been complaining about people making money. They’re just a bunch of hypocrites.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I hate the whole ‘Hollywood’ factor. These actors are just that – actors, nothing else. How can they justify being paid millions to act in a movie? I also hate the way that these actors are portrayed as heroes, stars, etc. It’s nothing more than false hype. There are so many other talented people behind the scenes that don’t get any recognition apart from some stupid gold statue that is given to them to make the whole process seem somewhat credible.

I think you are right, and we should fire some of them as well ! They do not handle things very well ! Let’s face it there is no bigger group of spoiled arrogant people any where else in America ! Well maybe the White House !

Hoolywood is getting stimulus money !

Richard Cabeza September 23, 2010 at 9:14 am

SURE. Just as soon as they beg congress for taxpayer funded bailouts because they ran thier business into the ground like wall street or the automakers did.

Deal?

I'm going to eat you. Grrrrr September 23, 2010 at 9:14 am

Yeah… I mean look at Oprah. If she was a good little liberal instead of a capitalist, she should be giving away all of her money, living in a $200k house and only living on $249k a year.

Why is that liberal so greedy?

AgriCult September 23, 2010 at 9:14 am

We’re just trying to fix the economy ruined by the Republicans, sorry if it’s not always the most elegant solution, we’re just trying to avoid another Great Depression.

When Hollywood asks for a bailout, then yes. Otherwise, they can do what they want. Consistent position, as always.

mayna_smo_mry September 23, 2010 at 9:14 am

i think they should pay to make a movie since most of them are so sickening. all they do is shoot some one stab some one havean affair with amarried person strip off their clothes and parade around use the most disgusting language. end of movie. they all have about the same plot.

volleyballchick September 23, 2010 at 9:14 am

Well, I do feel that actors are grossly overpaid and over hyped. But how do you compare those that memorize a few lines and look pretty and make millions to guys that make decisions that feed their greed and cripple an entire planet financially? If Brad Pitt controlled my wealth and financial security, then yes – cap his pay. But since he doesn’t, and he is merely easy on the eyes (VERY easy on the eyes. . .), I don’t care what the movie studios pay him. I don’t go to the movies, and I don’t see many movies. So I guess I don’t contribute to his gross overpayment. But GM’s CEO I contributed to by buying cars (each and every one I’ve owned), my retirement contributions, and my financial stability. How in the hell can you actually make the comparison?

Misty Jean Moore September 28, 2010 at 3:16 pm

You’re comparing apples and oranges here. Most celebrities don’t deserve such a high pay, and Hollywood knows that. That’s why many celebrities are Democrats. They use their status to pay back to society and promote progressive causes. Unlike the “old rich” conservative Republicans who want tax cuts and elimination of welfare programs for the needy.
