Mel’s is more a touristy restaurant than a celeb hang out. You might see a celeb once in awhile, but it isn’t like it was when the WeHo Mel’s was Ben Frank’s, then you could see lots of celebs, especially late at night. Usually the best time to see celebs at a Mel’s is when there is a private function there, and you wouldn’t be allowed inside. *If* there were celebs at Mel’s, they would definitely be more at WeHo, mostly the only people that walk around Hollywood Bl are Hollywood High school kids and tourists.
If you’re going looking for celebs, try the Grove. Pretty much every time I’m there I see one, and I’m there about once a week. But, I think a lot of people don’t recognize celebs, I do because of my friends and job, but often if they want not to be noticed at the Grove, they aren’t. Think smaller and skinnier, huge sunglasses and hat or cap. Also, Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills.
Neither. You will see more at Pinks than at both of those combined. But if you want better surroundings, try Studio City, BH, The Grove, or Culver City. z

I’ve been to both and never seen celebs in either one. I prefer West Hollywood though.
