Try John Tesh… He went from Olympic Games sportscaster and long time host of "Entertainment Tonight" to being a Contemporary Christian Music composer and performer. I don’t know about "Hollywood lifestyle," but he certainly had the celebrity bit going for him.
Most celebrities realize they don’t have to abandon their careers to be religious. DURR
Kirk Cameron is the only one coming to mind right now.
Neither of us have the time to list the "Hollywood celebrities" who’ve been born-again followers of Jesus Christ.
Yes, there have been actors and other entertainers who quit the entertainment business for a life more dedicated to religion. Cat Stevens comes to mind.
Though I’m not counting actors who were drug addicts or alcoholics and became religious nuts after going to a 12-step program. Or wash-ups like Kirk Cameron, who didn’t seem to have much a choice career-wise.
Kirk Cameron, sort of. There’s also some 1980′s TV actor who now does straight-to-video movies about a Christian superhero. Can’t remember his name. Amazingly enough, the thespian community has managed to get along without them.
