1. The Departed
This is the movie for which Scorsese finally received his well deserved Oscar after 6 nominations for Best Director. ” With three fantastic actors – Jack Nicholson, Leonardo Di Caprio, Matt Damon – and a soundtrack extraordinary (the film opens with Gimme Shelter Rolling Stones’ – a moment in the film) is a great thriller.
2. Mean Streets
It’s the film that Scorsese has given up first in Hollywood. Catch a young Robert De Niro as a rogue street cocky and Harvey Keitel as her boyfriend. The film may confuse some viewers, depending on the scenario rarely moves in chronological order. Nevertheless, it gives a view into the kind of director Scorsese would become.
3. Raging Bull
Scorsese had concluded a long partnership with Robert DeNiro. Scorsese worked with him on the winner of several Price movies, including Goodfellas and Taxi Driver. However, in the story of boxer Jake La Motta, the team Scorsese and De Niro at their best, delivering a power packed punch.
4. The Aviator
If DeNiro is Scorsese’s muse in the 70s, 80s and early 90s, his muse for the new century must be Leonardo DiCaprio. The director has worked with the star of films like Titanic, The Aviator, The Departed and Gangs of New York. But Leo is its better than the Pioneer Aviation and the richest man in the ancient world, Howard Hughes in this biopic. A must watch.
5. Goodfellas
This video 1990 is Scorsese at his best. Visceral, violent, raw and energetic, Goodfellas has incredible performance by Joe Pesci, Robert De Niro, and Ray Liotta. This story about the Mafia to have you on the edge of your seat throughout.
